May 13 Saturday

Visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  It is wonderfully located along the beautiful shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland.

We spent 5 hours there and could have spent more but we needed a refreshment so we went to dinner at an upscale Nuevo Modern Mexican & Tequila Bar on 9th Street in Cleveland conveniently located next to the R&R.

The exhibits were fabulous including a 3-D concert film of U2.

ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME BUILDING located on the marina in Cleveland, Ohio.

Michael Jackson’s glove and suit were created and designed in the same fashion. Intriguing hand-written songs were written by composers: Glen Fry and others and John Mellencamp had a large floor space to show his brilliance.

I watched the Beatles exhibit for almost an hour.   RINGO's actual drumset here.
Looks like a basic beginner set of drums.

The Beatles exhibit featured each album and a short video of the Beatles composing and making each studio albums.

We walked through 50 years of reporting, interviews and letters from rock's biggest magazine: Rollingstone.

May 12 Friday
Johnathon Winters is from Dayton Ohio.  Departing Dayton to Cleveland: we boondocked at Cracker barrel.  Known to welcome travelers.

One morning it was garbage day and the next morning it was delivery day……...before 7:00a.m.  It is free to stay overnight in the parking lot with an RV.  We went in for dinner for Southern greens and blue-plate specials.

 Entering Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland, Ohio keeping up with its past to remain current.

Ohio states the law on its road signs.
In Columbus, Ohio the Buggy Company began in 1812 by CD Firestone.
We stayed at the Berea Middletown at the Cuyahoga County Fair Grounds near Cleveland.

We had a short drive to Cleveland downtown to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and parked and asked to stay boondocked overnight at the:
First Energy Football Stadium for the Cleveland Browns.

This RV Overnight parking lot was ideal as it is contained beyond a locked access gate with security…. there was one other RV parked in the lot which was another confirmation of the logistically ideal lot......and located next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

5/11/2017 National Museum of the United States Air Force: Dayton, Ohio

From Orville and Wilbur Wright's Bicycle Shop in Dayton Ohio, we headed north of town to the:
Official National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The museum was surprisingly captivating to me.  It is huge and divided into galleries that cover broad trends in military aviation.  Exhibits are detailed into specific historical periods.

The aircrafts are displayed in historical context.

The grounds are very large.  It is delightful: Here on the grounds of the museum.
The Spring is celebrated with
 "Kites for Family Day".

One of the world's largest collections with more than 360 aircraft.

AT the U.S. Air Force Museum, of course, is the
Wright brothers artifact:  bike.  They conducted some of their early experiments at nearby Huffman Prairie.

This plane is much like the fuel plane that Michael G. navigated while serving his country in the Air Force.

The Presidential Gallery housed several President’s airplanes including those used by Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.    Air Force One in silver and blue and we were thrilled to go inside.

Other planes:

Sopwith Camel: FAMOUS BRITISH FIGHTER AEROPLANE WWI.
Snoopy used his doghouse as his "Sopwith Camel" fighter plane.
