Our friends, back home: Sam and Kathy Teresi have
invested several years into their 1848 Distillery so we decided we would
explore Donner-Peltier Distillers in Thibodaux, LA.
Tim and I were delighted with our own personal tour and tasting and found we liked the creamy texture of their spirits. We chose: rice-based Oryza Vodka, Rougaroux full moon dark rum, la1 Whiskey. We shipped it to Jason and Erin
We emailed all the information to Sam and Kathy. We’ll have to have a California tasting party!

Distillery host, Danielle Stein was bright and knew
about the start-up.
She referred us to Spahr’s restaurant, downtown Thibodaux where Donner-Peltier products are served.

Here we are at lunch at Spahr's with a Donner-Peltier Distillery 13pennies rum and kalua cocktail sprinkled with cinnamon.
Spahr’s host was very well mannered and told
us he was born and raised in town. He
pointed out the window and told us he lives right there; it was a historic
building revitalized into lofts. He was
so proud to live and work there.
He
showed us the gator-fish on the wall……it was taxidermy—good thing. Been around enough ponds to not care for
alligators. Yet alligators are not
feared there.
Locals say the gators are slow on land.
