From Blue Ridge Lake, Georgia, we have arrived To Tennessee at the city of Nashville!  The cityscape is an awesome greeting.  Downtown is filled with towering headquarter buildings with a nostalgic mix of early 1920's buildings and houses.  The Music City.

Partial Nashville Skyline   This town continues to grow.  Our Walking Tour Guide told us the city is growing at a rate of 100 newcomers a month! Tim counted 28 tower cranes.
The Nashville culture is comprised of a musical center launched by a radio station WSM broadcast called the Grand Ole Opry.  The centerpiece of Nashville: the Ryman Auditorium (terra-cotta color in the enter) is surrounded by the new and ever-growing highrise office buildings.

Alan Jackson bought the 3-story 6,000 sq.ft. building. (AJ's) Good Time Bar.  Live music, of course, and we had a good time!  Even the window washer man is taking his time.

Subtle Blake Shelton does not have his name on his Honky Tonk; this new 'Ole Red' is his.

Broadway is a major thoroughfare in the downtown area in Nashville.
 Many modes of the party!

Available modes of transportation

Federal Office Building (Customs House) designed by William Potter in a Gothic Revival style.  Became National Register of Historic Places in 1972.  Beautiful plaza area for a walk about.

Stroll along 1st Avenue South along the Cumberland Riverfront.  Nissan Stadium is perched along the river.

Bridgestone Arena hosts concerts and the CMA Awards.

Music City of Walk of Fame Park. Tim is walking all over these people!  Garth Brooks, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma has his star front and center!

Country Music Hall of Fame

Below is the 4th Avenue Nashville Symphony Center.  We saw hometown girl, Reese Witherspoon, at her Book Release "Whiskey in a Teacup".  Reese's mother was seated in the next row.  She is an unpretentious but proud mom siping from her VIP teacup.  Reese responded to questions in an interview format with local book/journalist on stage.  Spoke of her 3rd-grade attempt at the business with her brother.  Hair clips personalized with individual's name.  Reese's message is one to empower women for opportunities.
Symphony Center, downtown Nashville.

Inside the Symphony Center Lobby, Reese has her books for her fans.  Tim counted, with a seating capacity of 1,844, there were 44 men in the audience.  It (as Tim refers) was an 'Estro-fest' !!

Tennessee State Capitol building between 1845 and 1859.  Became National Register of Historic Places in 1971 in Centennial Capitol Mall.

North area of downtown, the art district includes famous artists Murals.  Story: Instead of humans adopting dogs; this dog is adopting this child.

Found this on the Walking Tour; this is a work by Rone.

So many eclectic pieces to Nashville which makes this city Superior!
This Woolworth On Fifth.  This diner is preserved.

The upstairs bar is featured on the TV show: Nashville

One of the original, Since 1913, this "five and dime" is a registered historic site.  The lunch counter is open and Tim and I chose this for our lunch spot.  It was served on the stacked ceramic dinnerware and the old time favorite patty melt is delicious.  History runs deep within these walls where the process of desegregation at downtown lunch counters began. (short story).

One of the oldest buildings in Nashville The First Presbyterian Church served as a hospital during the American Civil War.  Tennessee is the last state to leave the Union; the first state to return.

Tim found tickets at City Winery.  Debby Boone performed.  This venue is located just on the other side of the street from the Country Hall of Fame.  It is modern and a lovely place for events.  A 30-year Highschool Reunion was happening on the 3rd floor.  The wine bar was interesting with many California wines on the menu.  City Winery does make their own wines.  We chose the red Grenache.   West Coast grapes are delivered to this location and the wine is created here.  Valet Parking here at front entrance.

Wine bar; before the show.
Tim reading the lineup of performers appearing next month: Mac McAnally!  Another reason to return.

Final song performed by Debby Boone, the song: "You Light Up My Life".
She has returned to the stage as her children are grown.  Her show included stories of the Rat Pack and Rosemary Clooney (her mother-in-law).  Also spoke of her dad, Pat Boone and her mom Shirley Foley Boone, daughter of country music star Red Foley.

Debby Boone autographed her CD for me.  Great Show!!

Back at 'the ranch'.  Walking Woodstock, the kitty cat at our RV Campgrounds at J. Percy Priest Lake about 20 minutes from downtown Nashville.

Tim has the generators in use during this stay.  The large umbrella serves as the perfect rain protection while allowing air flow.

"Looking Out Our Back Door"

Time to move on from Nashville; we are on our way to St Louis.  We visited Nashville last year; now again on our way north.  It is a city to return again.  So much resolute to its history and diligence in its contemporary actions building and growing a city reflective of the community.
