From Lake of the Ozarks, MO we travel 735 miles through the rain in Western Kansas. We drive till dark-thirty to stop at an overnight truck stop. We arrive in Parker, Colorado with Tim's childhood friend: Ed Trigeiro, and his wife Anita. We are staying out front for two nights.
Downtown Parker - O'Brien Park to Red Rocks Park and AmphitheatreHosting many world-famous musicians such as The Beatles, and Willie Nelson, this is one of 23 Gold Record for the band Chicago.
An open-air amphitheater. Officially opened to the public on June 15, 1941. It has since become an iconic American Concert venue. The sandstone formations naturally form the amphitheater.Recognized by large sandstone formations the massive monoliths, named "Ship Roick' flanks the 9,525-capacity seating area.
In the distance is downtown Denver.
Back through Morrison Natural Park to OLDE TOWN Arvada. OLDE TOWN SQUARE - created for all to enjoy by the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority
We dined at the School House Kitchen and Libations restaurant. It is a cool 1882 schoolhouse turned bistro and saloon with so much warmth and charm. A Trigeiro favorite and now ours.
Olde Town Arvada is the heart and soul of the City. Wadsworth Blvd. is the center of Farmer's Market, a meeting place, and a place for a stroll.
Humorous signs while strolling the streets. where you find the Black + Haus Tavern.
This sign says: "Come Get Roasted" at the coffee cafe.
Evening is upon us and time to go to Ed and Anita's house.
"Peacetown Sebastopol" days of childhood with Ed and Tim.
The Deer Park Trail is just outside their front door.
This neighborhood is cared for by the homeowner association.
Walking along the paved Canterberry Crossing on the trail is so pleasant.
Ed and Anita's son Joseph is in the BIZ: Adams Automobile Care Products (supply to Jay Leno's Garage). Ed proudly displays his inventory.
Ed, the boy, has a toy......for when their grandchildren visit........
Such fun 'driving' this remote control racecar....on the front sidewalk. We have had a wonderful time. It is so nice to get together with life-long friends. It really kindles the heart.
We must say goodbye as we are headed to Sacramento from Parker, Colorado with just
Rose Elizabeth is 4 months old.overnight truck stops along the way..... through Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and CA.
