3/30/2017 - 3/31/2017 Carlsbad Caverns New Mexico

From: casarollnotes.blogspot.com
Tim and Linda Bunyan

Overnight at Rest Stop, NOW onto: Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico
 @ Guadalupe National Park.

Carlsbad Caverns is mighty .....and a world leader in Cave Wonders.

Tim visited the Caverns as a young man with his parents.  High sea ledges of old and deep rocky canyons form this as a treasure that remains a fond memory to Tim.

We experienced Carlsbad Caverns, self-guided trail along with Karen and Larry by entering the Caves walking to
the "Big Room".
The trail is 1 and a half miles to reach the cave!  It leads to a cathedral type, expansive underworld which is complete with cafe, t-shirt sales, and a Post Office!  Yes, I mailed a card home to prove it really is true.
This is a place where one day is minimal time to take in this beautiful underground wilderness.

Karen and Larry have met up with us at Guadalupe Mountain National Park Camp to go
to Carlsbad Cavern with us.

Las Cruces, New Mexico @ Rest Area on Highway I-10
 [Woodstock's favorite road]                 3/29/17

Passing through from Arizona through New Mexico on the Chihuahuan Desert, along the Rio Grande where the agricultural region is center on its floodplain.
                           This Pivotal RestStop
in New Mexico is topped with an off-beat recycled Roadrunner sculpture to behold!   It is huge!  Olin Calk created the 20' tall and 40' long statue.  A crane was used to move it from his backyard to the new base at this RestStop.  Sure make us "Road Warriors" feel that we are in a special place.

3/26/2017 - 3/29/2017 Bisbee, AZ

From: casarollnotes.blogspot.com

Tim and Linda Bunyan

Bisbee, ARIZONA  @ Queen Mine Caverns and RV Park 3/26 – 3/29

ONE day in Bisbee we had all the hot spots mapped out and found our free spirits at the infamous St Elmos.   Doubters are welcome to this place with a well-preserved historical architectural setting.  We spent a joyous time working on our destiny at this age old bar.

 RON,

the common sense; without bias.  We celebrate the WagonMaster who notices the small things to keep reasoning and non-fiction.  He appears as St Elmos Fire bright glow, patron saint of sailors.  Captain thru with acute senority as a secret society.
FRANNIE performs many functions exploring what might be at stake and provides a set of resources for future decisions-makers.  She moves us and invites us to enable a thriving interactive community of "Road Warriors".
LARRY AND KAREN go 'Hand in Hand'.  There for the thrills and laughter adding this to the element from which we all drink.
TIM the authority for principle, is settled thru custom rather than law.  Inventive and alive; yet free from mysterious undertones.

We have come to a summit, to only part by miles.   FRIENDS: You have held our hand as we step into retirement of which you are pros.  Delightful commentary, seminars, and lots of doing and petting and crafting with beads.  All plants, rocks, and natural features are ours.  Markers of humanity built for all along the trail of life as landmarks to our statement here on earth.

THIS has been our month of MARCH "Kick-off"
2017 US Tour.  We now move on from Arizona to TEXAS country!

Benson, ARIZONA @ Kartchner Caverns 3/23 - 3/26/17

OFF to Benson with LEAD: RON AND FRANNIE; and KAREN and LARRY meet up with us, trailing us on the road, traveling to Kartchner State Park where we are welcome at the front gate!

We toured the Cavern during the Twilight Show with 2.4 miles of passages.  Thank you to the landowners: James and Lois Kartchner.  The Tenen and Tufts discovered the cave and then spent several years of developing and protecting the cave.  Although a lengthy process the public is rewarded with access to the Secret Cave.
What a great hike and exploration!

1879  TOMBSTONE town was a notorious stagecoach stop and a great lunch stop in San Pedro Valley where the river runs North--drains from the state of Sonora, Mexico.  We are on our way to the Queen Mine caverns, in the quaint town of Bisbee, Arizona

3/12/2017 - 3/18/2017 Welcome to Mesa, Arizona

From: casarollnotes.blogspot.com

Tim and Linda Bunyan

TIME is the currency with just a few hours spent in the chaise recliner, we are departing Emerald Cove RV Park to: MESA, Arizona to "Stan's Place": Mesa Regal RV Resort.

Through Quartsite and on I-10 for 100 miles to Phoenix.  Bob Wills and the Playboys singing on the radio: "Bubbles in my Beer" and 1983 Kenny Rogers and Dolly (now 71 years young) remain: "Island in the Stream".  We find comfort in friends joining us on our RV 2017 Tour; not so alone and others enjoy it.  Mike greets us at the entrance to guide us to our site for the week in Stan's playland.

Welcome to MESA Regal Resort, ARIZONA road signs:
"AR does not Spring Forward; We Buckle UP"!
We are glad to be vagabonds and nomadic as we go from place to place without a home or a job.  "Backroads" by Little Feat, plays on the radio.  Stan's playground is open to us as we converge for a fun week of events Stan (and Mike & Sherry) have planned for us.  Stan has turned to be quite a "cruise captain" .......same week as his boat, back home in Sacramento, has sold.

3/3/2017 - 3/11/2017 Emerald Cove @ Parker, AZ

Emerald Cove RV Resort at Parker and Lake Havasu, Arizona.

From: casarollnotes.blogspot.com

Tim and Linda Bunyan

We have reached our home away from home at our Club Member RV Camp located at Emerald Cove RV Resort at Parker and Lake Havasu, Arizona.  This week-long respite is a nice dose of retirement as our RV Club Membership pays for our 8-day stay and dinners are served at the clubhouse.  I enjoy daily water aquatic classes, and Tim found leisure in putting on new tires on our bikes.  Our dear friends JIM AND LINDA DRINKARD joined us and we traveled around in their Sidekick, Suzuki to nearby stores, bars, marina's, and the house where Linda spent some of her young adulthood.

Lake Havasu is as a mirage in this desert.  The Colorado River has gifted this lake to the locals.  A delightful town has grown up around it with boating, kayaking, and swimming.  Jim and Linda Drinkard have met up with us on the road.  We celebrated by enjoying a 5-crafted beer tasting and survived walking across the London Bridge.  This 1831 bridge is gifted from the Scottish McCulloch family.

MIKE AND SHERRY have joined up with us in some "State of Mind", so we took their brand new, shiny truck to the quirky, rustic
Desert Bar (built on the site of a former mining camp.)  Upon departure, Mike went straight to the car wash!!!

3/1/2017 - 3/2/2017 Rancho Mirage @ Mike and Paul Rancho Mirage

From: casarollnotes.blogspot.com
Tim and Linda Bunyan

Departing Aguanga, CA 92536  (San Diego area to: Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage)

March 1, 2017, To Rancho Mirage for an overnight visit with brother Mike and Paul .....a great destination for: Sunnylands.

Nothing like I-10 heading East for a change of state of mind.  This place has a way of making the sunshine and palm trees sway of another place to 'carve-out' as your own.

Woodstock, the kitty cat, is carving out a place of his own, sipping a water drink from the patio pool!

Here is Mike carving out his place at Rancho Mirage near Bob Hope Drive.

My brother, Mike, making cinnamon rolls just like mom's.  YUMMY!!

The men direct the direction on our walk.

A walk near the neighborhood where we discover an adobe fence and house in Rancho Mirage.
Mike and Paul have prepared the Coco's Condo for cousin Sharon to take up residence from Boston.

Paul has just returned from Bellingham, WA
to post the Sale Sign there as they begin the build of their ocean view house for
 their next home.

We walked around the park with Mike and Paul; Sofie (the puppy dog) stayed relaxed pool-side at home.

Life is moving and changing quickly so we march onward through the desert.  We drive as under the direction of the memorial statue of General Patton.
17 miles to the east of Palm Springs he trained his men to live and fight in the desert at Camp Young (1942-1943) in the stark, hot conditions to test and develop tactical methods to fight in the North African campaign.  OK, we can do this as we head East from CA to Arizona!
