New Iberia Historic Center seemed to expand out from Victor's Cafeteria.                            Centered between the
local radio
the station, call letters: CANE
and City Hall is:

  Victor's Cafeteria.
This local cafe rivals any home-town cooking restaurant.  Breakfast is served 6 a.m. to 11:00a.m.

It closes for one hour and then re-opens at noon to serve Lunch.

Every local in town was there from the Cable guy to the UPS man.  A stately Mr. and Mrs. arrived by black Cadillac to dine at the historic Cafeteria.

The author, 80-year-old James Lee Burke, still writes the Dave Robicheaux series and remains a frequent guest at Victor's Cafeteria.  His photo and movie billboard "In The Electric Mist' is on display alongside his very own bait shop set up in his honor inside the restaurant.
