Button Bay State Park: Vergennes, Vermont

Tim's family, Kathy and hubby Frank, recommended Button Bay for RV camp along the shoreline of Lake Champlain.
Mike and Sherry have come out in their RV to meet up with us and experience Fall Colors!  A little slice of heaven right here!

We are here in Vermont during October.  Preparations are being made for winter and for impending snow.  This time of year, we are able to drive up Mount Mansfield here at Stowe, Vermont.  From the top, we get a wide perspective of the Green Mountain National Forest and Champlain Valley below.

SKI SLOPES ARE READY FOR SNOW !

We are on the hunt for a real maple syrup farm, heading to Nebr. Knoll Sugarhouse.  We discover the Trapp Family Lodge on the way!  Beautiful Resort and there is a real "Sound of Music" family that have lived here and now their youngest grandson is Master of the Resort.

Von Trapp Family Lodge - Austrian-style mountain resort.

The Front Entrance.  We spent an hour in the lobby and day room area.

It is a wonderful story and a beautiful place.

We took a drive around the charming Vergennes, the smallest town in Vermont.

We've enjoyed an abundance of outdoor opportunities, historical attractions, and charming small towns.  Good-bye to good friends; see you on the road again!

Now for the final curtain of the "Colony States" portion of Travel Tour 2017
We see the Adirondack Mountains!

Tim and I to return to New York.

We have come from: the far reaches of Maine, through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and to the Green Mountains of Vermont.
We have resided here in the Champlain Valley of Vermont.
NOW,
we have the Adirondacks on our horizon to the West.

We go to discover!

We have made this town of Carroll our home at Sugarloaf CG at Twin Mountain.  It is in the center of the White Mountains, New Hampshire.  There are two prominent summits that rise to the South of the village North Twin Mountain and South Twin Mountain.
A superb scenic area, perfect place for the Fall Colors: they abound!

The area offers beautiful White Mountain and Bretton Woods.

In 1944 an international monetary arrangement was agreed upon that created the World Bank.  The conference was held at the elegant:

Kancamagus Highway: Crawford Notch Mt. Washington and Franconia Notch along the
famous Kancamagus Highway.

"The Kanc" runs from Conway to Woodstock, passing through the Franconia Notch.
It is one of the best 34 miles scenic drive and wonderfully amazing!
