Muscle Shoals, Alabama

We are heading north on the Natchez Trace yet Tim and I ventured outside the Parkway to visit the special music trail laid down at
 Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

The small, nondescript recording studio was founded by the studio musicians:
The Swampers.
The studio has a history and established a reputation for developing the:
"Muscle Shoals Sound"

The location of the FAME Studios, a recording studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama is along the Tennessee River, known as the Shoals area.   Muscle Shoals sound is known for originating at the recording studio using the same studio players and accomplishing hit songs from the 1950s to currently at the FAME Studios.   In 1950, Founder of Muscle Shoals Music Rick Hall started producing hit records.
It is added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.

The Tennessee River has played a key role in historic land disputes between Native Americans and Anglo-American settlers in the late 1700s.  Now FAME STUDIOS sits nearby and is surrounded by suburbia.  The studio is still actively operating.

A place we choose as a National Register of Historic Places
 has receive community awards.

We visited BUNYAN'S BBQ.....IT ROCKS!
This cozy, old-time, pit stop serves up BBQ sandwiches at their takeout counter inside this convenience-sized luncheonette.
These lovely ladies, here with the Owner, have been employed for over 30 years at Bunyan's BBQ!

It is famous to us for not only the name; but also, Mac Mcanally (a successful musician on his own and Jimmy Buffett's 'right-hand man' on stage) had just come in last week and ordered 50 BBQ, pulled port sandwiches with the mustard slaw: To Go.......taking them to the Fame Studio for those that make music!
