                                                                   Tim and Linda Bunyan
November 2020

The Elks Lodge, Rancho Cordova has a large For Sale sign at the entrance; however, Tim and I remain able to be in our favorite space with Hookups and Laundry available.  This is fine (till sold) for our visit while in Sacramento during the holidays of 2020.
We visit Jason and Erin.....and the kitties Maggie and Chicken.
We don't find Chicken.
Maggie is fine; she is a lady of leisure with her three legs
Jason and Erin have a new Stellantis Ram brand group truck.  The truck is a 1500 diesel Limited, eco-friendly.  Stellantis is a multinational automotive manufacturer, formed in 2020 on the basis of a 50-50 cross-border merger between the Italian-American Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group.
We go to Alamo, California to visit Angela and Lee, and Jeff.
Angela is growing a garden.  Squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes, and broccoli !!!
Picked a broccoli branch from the head and ate it right there from the garden!
Practicing safe seating for the Book Club.  It is sunny but cool, so the patio fireplace and lap blankets keep us warm.

Jeffrey giving his mom a birthday gift!  I believe it is a phone charger and she likes it very much!
Loved ones and Birthday....nothing better!!!  It is Angela's birthday.  She is also hosting the Book Club and invited me to attend.
Tim is retrieving the Lexus from Angela and Lee's side yard for our travel to Mazatlan.
We are visiting at Angela and Lee's house to do a quick birthday gift moment now; later we are celebrating with our family at the CIA at Copia,
paradise in Napa.

Angela chose the perfect birthday place for the family to get together for safe seating brunch at the CIA at Copia (The Culinary Institute) of Napa.
A place to "Feed Your Joy".

We ordered items from brunch burger, granola, to Chilaquiles, and chicken waffles!

Jason has reserved an RV trip to Carmel with the Inlaws Barbara and John.  We have decided to go to Monterey for a week prior.  Monterey Cannery Row & Fisherman's Wharf.

John Denver Memorial plaque in Pacific Grove.  While piloting his Long-EZ kit plane in 1997, he tragically crashed into Monterey Bay near this point.
It took some walking around close proximity to locate.  Not the same as the honor tribute to John Denver in Aspen, Colorado we visited in June.

Fisherman's Wharf is a historic wharf in Monterey.  It is used as an active wholesale fish market and tourist attraction.

The Monterey Fish Co is a seafood wholesaler.  Fresh seafood is captured and handled with care and respect to the greater San Francisco Bay Area.  Fresh and frozen seafood.  The best crab in town.
The seagulls are waiting for closing time.  Hours of Operation 9:30 a.m. - 4:00p.m.

Monterey Fair Grounds RV Park.

The Monterey Jazz Festival is an annual music festival (since 1958) that takes place here on this 20-acre oak-studded Monterey County Fairgrounds.  We are staying in the RV Park on the grounds.
This is one of nine stages spread throughout the grounds.
Since 1992 Clint Eastwood has been on the board of directors of the festival.
The Monterey Jazz Festival has widened its scope by expanding to:
 Jazz, blues, and rock.
The Monterey Pop Festival has been held since 1967 for three days in the mid-June part of the Summer of Love.  Due to Covid, there is not a 2020 Festival scheduled.
The RV Park shows drive-in movies and a Snack Shack open for anyone to attend,.

"Best Kept Secret"
It is time to meet up with Jason&Erin and John&Barbara at Carmel by the River RV Park.
It is a premier destination in the Carmel/Monterey area.  It is nestled up against the Carmel River with full hook-up.
The first rule on the information sheet: Thoroughly enjoy yourself.
We all set up for the first evening Jason and Erin are cooking at their place.  We are all helping to set up fine dining.

It takes a village!  Jason and Erin have food all prepared and ready to bbq.

We head out the next day to Pebble Beach.  A walking tour and lunch!

We are following Jason's new truck with the bike rack fitted on the bed of the truck.  Jason & Erin are spending more time on a bike ride and onto Yosemite after we return to Sacramento.  The sign says: Patio @ Fairway One

The Lodge at Pebble Beach adjacent to the public golf course at Fairway One

Fairway One has 38 new guest rooms.

It's a Rolex!
We begin our walking tour of Pebble Beach Golf Course at the famous Fairway One.

Jason points out several houses along the course where he has attended political fundraisers. Ryan & Alicia join us!

Here is John and Tim 'house shopping' !!!

Jason and Erin pause at Pebble Beach for a moment with the Pacific ocean
and the guest lodge in the background.

We are thrilled with our walking tour actually through the
 Pebble Beach golf course!
It is so special to be here and make a brief stop for cocktails during our walking trail.  This is John and his daughter Erin.
So fun to be served cocktails along the 'walking trail'!
It is sunny and beautiful to be here at Par 4.

Spectators of all sorts.
The Beach Club Dining Room is open to Pebble Beach Resorts guests, private club members (& for weddings)

We wave down an approaching 'food truck' for refreshment.

The 7th hole: Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Tiger Woods (&Jason Bryant) are just a few of the players who have hit famous shots at the course that's home to
the 2019 U.S. Open,
The 7th hole at Pebble Beach is the most photographed hole in golf.

After several hours we return to the Lodge area where the Major Champions at Pebble Beach are honored.

Cocktails utilizing fresh-made juices, purees, and garnishes while overlooking the 18th hold at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
A Casual Yet Sophisticated Dining Experience.
This is our Thanksgiving dinner place using the technique of wood roasting and open-flame cooking the turkey dinner is on the menu!    "The Bench"
We depart after sunset and find the holiday spirit lights up the lodge entrance
A perfect way to end a wonderful day at Pebble Beach and The Bench for the Thanksgiving holiday 2020 !!
Thank you Jason & Erin for excellent planning, perfect timing, and loving hosts of this memorable day!!!

The next day we go downtown Carmel for some winetasting at Galante!  The Wine Tasting Room and Western Emporium are Carmel's first Wine Tasting Room.  It is along a shady, semi-private street which allows for outside wine tasting served by the proprietor Jack Galante.
Jack Galante Great Grandfather came with a dream in mind.  He and his partner Frank Powers created the town of Carmel.
We toast this family legacy as we continue to make our own family history in Carmel at the Wine Tasting Room!
Galante Vineyards has always had a very simple philosophy: grow the finest grapes and let the fruit express itself in the wine.  Galante is known for producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc in Monterey County.

We walk the shops nearby as Jason and Erin have reservations for us at Spanish Bay this evening.

Spanish Bay entrance.

The Pacific Ocean and The Links at Spanish Bay as a panoramic backdrop as we enjoy cocktails and views while we browse our menus at STICKS/Roy's Pebble Beach located within the Inn at Spanish Bay.

The Inn
Here we are seated at sunset on the first tee at The Links at Spanish Bay in front of Sticks at the Spanish Bay firepits by the second green.
Reimagine the Pacific as the Scottish Highlands.

Architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. worked with Tom Watson to create a top-rated golf course.
Tom Watson (a five-time British Open champion) reflected one day after surveying the transformed dunescape:
"Spanish Bay is so much like Scotland, you can almost hear the bagpipes."

It was natural for the uniquely Scottish experience of playing a seaside links-style course with the national instrument of The Home of Golf.

Sunset sent me 'over-the-moon' with delight.

This has been a spectacular weekend with Jason&Erin and John&Barbara and Erin's brother Ryan&Alicia.
Jason has frequented these places he has introduced to us this weekend.  It has been a top-rated experience and high pleasure enjoying the incredible sites and accessibility of this landscape.
I can almost hear the bagpipes!
