START: Conelly's High Desert Oasis 5/22 - 5/28 2019 2019 Travel Tour START of the Pacific Northwest is Officially Begun

From: casarollnotes.blogspot.com
Tim and Linda Bunyan
VIA Reno and Ron and Fran's house for an overnight.  Fran performed her usual magic with preparing a fine dinner and invited Ron's brother: Radio Dadio Mike and Alice at radiodaddio.com.  They are super excited because they just sold their home and have bought a 60' boat to live on, seasonally, in Puerta Vallarta.  Mike and Alica also have an RV they will live in the U.S. .....stay tuned on all that great change.
Ron and Fran have their Somerset house in Reno, Nevada; and now purchased a second house in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It is located near Lake Mead (Colorado River) and son: Scott and Carrie.  Loads of fun there!

2019 Travel Tour of the Pacific Northwest
We were greeted at the entrance to the 40 acres at the May 2019 Connelly Roundup at the High Desert Oasis.  First time for Tim and I.  The flag at the entrance gate told us we were in the Palomino Valley where Rob and Sandy took up residence in their 40 acres.

Sandy has her color flower garden and a Rock Garden.

We are now at Rob and Sandy Connelly's High Desert Oasis.  All these people we know have 'come to age' in their retirement and have many choices and opportunities to live and the lifestyle in which they intend to go forward.  It is all so interesting.  Rob and Sandy purchased 40 acres near Pyramid Lake in Nevada.  This space allows for a large metal building which houses their toys and includes a two-bedroom house upstairs.  On the ground floor, there is a Man/&Woman Cave comfortable tv and lounge room.  Also, a guest bedroom and full bath.
Rob has The Oasis heated with a used-oil furnace and also is prepared for the hot weather with a free-standing cooler the size of a small car.

You can see, it also has a large movie screen and bean toss, and Jenga wood tower.

Sandra Solis set up her Pickle Ball net with plenty of room to play.

"Rita's Walkers"

RZR Women

The Women On our RZE Drive, we saw purple flowers and lavender butterflies!

WHEELS !!!

RITA's WALKERS - every day, before noon, Rita led the group to walk around the
High Desert Oasis!
Steve and Rita, as groundskeeper Oasis Hosts, showed us around the 40 acres!  Rita led us all on daily walks around the High Desert Oasis!  Steve kept the home fires burning for everyone to gather around.

There were a dozen assorted RV’s upon our arrival and by the end of the Memorial Day Weekend, Steve had Captained in near 20 RV's.

Sandy has put her touch on the comfortable, multi-purpose 'man cave' to include all the family photos that Sandra Solis had framed.  HOME SWEET HOME!

Tim and I got the tour around the house.  There remains evidence of this fine family as Sandy showed us all her days-gone-by photos on the ‘man/woman cave’ wall which Sandra Solis had framed for their other house years ago.   The family photos are dispersed with other favorite memorabilia given to Rob and Sandy throughout the years.

There is ample room at the Inn here at the Oasis should anyone want to sleep in a Guest Room with a real bed, dresser, and adjoining bathroom!  The upstairs (soon to have a lift installed) is a house within a house with all the comforts as a home.
Saturday we served Moscow Mule cocktails and Dough and Deb McPherson cam for a few hours visit.  Doug was so happy to be a part of a conversation and Deb enjoyed some girl time!  Tim and I may meet up with them in Oregon as they are on a trip up North to visit Doug’s brother in Idaho.
Sunday the vote was to stay in at the Oasis rather than the Atlantis for Brunch…..I do believe we surpassed the serving of the champagne.  No one needs a mustang horse; but the U.S. owns thousands of them.  There is a wild horse and burro Center nearby.  Call Jeremy (775)475-2227 for a tour.
S The weather here these 5 days is absolutely delightful.  The rain was only at night and just enough to keep the sand dust from roaming freely.
Patrick chauffeured Tim and me on his personal 4-person RZR.  What spectacular desert scenery riding into the sprawling desert!!  He showed us Petersen Mountains where he can drive to his house to his parents home all by RZR!.

Steve and Rita and a few others joined in on the trip through the trail running in Red Rocks and the towering sandstone peak of Warrior’s Rock.  It was a moment for this Memorial Day for all to pay respect to those who served.  Rich Solis wrote in the Journal and put the book back into the crevice for the next patriot.

There were clusters of small, lavender butterflies.  They settled in the groves in the trail to find cool and water.
As soon as they arrived Friday evening, Gordon and Kevin Hubble rode their new Rubicon on the trail to break it in!  Rich and Sandra Solis and Ron and Frannie have Rubicons.  OK, they can take some trails.

Some free-range cows owned the road.  We stopped and visited which gave the cows a change of mind and they moved on to greener pastures.

Soldiers Rock, so appropriate for this Memorial Day Weekend.  Thank you to all those who served to keep our Freedom!
As Janis Joplin sings: Freedom don't mean nothin' ...... if it ain't free.

Tim, Linda, and Woodstock on the Road on our Pacific Northwest Travel Tour 2019
Northern CA coast, Oregon Coast, Wa Coast, Cour de Alene, and Yellowstone, return West by way of The Tabernacle Choir, and back to Sac via Lincoln Highway.

TIM and I depart on HWY395 from the High Desert, Westward in the Sierra’s thru Susanville with an overnight stop in Red Bluff at Sycamore Grove Recreation Area.
I took a walk in the shady, grassy fields along the banks of the sparkling Sacramento River.   At $25.00 per night is reasonable as there are showers available, electric, and drinking water available.
I can see Mt Lassen Volcanic National Park across the field of oak trees.
I return to this stop in reflection now of a couple months passed and having seen all the flowers demonstrated at Sycamore's Garden is a real boon to discovering them all along this Pacific Northwest 2019 Travel Tour....(next stop)!
