Red Bluff, CA - Sycamore Grove 5/28/2019

From the Desert in Nevada, up and over the Sierra's into Redbluff, California.  We begin our Travel Tour of the Pacific Northwest heading West to arrive the Coast.  We will spend June in Oregon; July in the Olympic Peninsula, Washington; into Bellingham for Family Reunions.  Then go East to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to visit with Jim and Linda Drinkard (Breena is expecting a baby around that due date (mid-August).  We will visit Bill and Jane too.  Jim and Linda will follow in their motorhome to Yellowstone with us for a couple of weeks.  Mike and Sherry and The Chovanecs plan to join in at Yellowstone for a couple of days too!


TIM and I depart on HWY395 from the High Desert in the Sierra’s thru Susanville

Northern California

 Susanville:  The art deco Sierra Theatre, a Cinema Treasure opened in 1935.  Is still showing
 first-run movies.
Diner Grand Cafe: diner or museum; first opened 1909.

with an overnight stop in Red Bluff at Sycamore Grove Recreation Area. 
I walked in the shad in the grassy fields along the banks of the sparkling Sacramento River.   At $25.00 per night is reasonable as there are showers available, electric, and drinking water available.

I can see Mt Lassen Volcanic National Park across the field of oak trees.

I return to this stop in reflection now of a couple months passed and having seen all the flowers demonstrated at Sycamore's Garden is a real boon to discovering them all along this Pacific Northwest 2019 Travel Tour.
Sacramento River Discovery Center



  Flowers: Yarrow (saw those everywhere along the Pacific Northwest).  elderberry, goldenrod, daisy.

Oak Trees growing on their own; very large and strong.,

The Redbluff Research Pumping Plant on the Sacramento River up here at Redbluff, CA to operate with minimal loss or harm to downstream migrating Chinook salmon young.

TIM and I depart Sycamore Grove in Red Bluff to head West over the Coastal Mountains onto HWY 299 to the Elks Lodge in Eureka, CA
