On our way to New Orleans, Since 1884, the same two bakery items: rolled bread and ginger cakes continue to be sold out the side door at Le Jeune's Bakery Inc.
Established in Jeanerette, Louisiana, the Le Jeune family has been baking for five generations.
The kitchen is open to the street and to all that pass to select from layers of rolling shelves.
Since the beginning, the packaging is brown paper twisted closed at each end. WHY?:
The owner replied: "If it's not broken, why change things?" Basic food made with a lot of heart for over 100 years!
