Here we are at Sunset Point ........the most easternmost RV Park.


West Quoddy Head Lighthouse
The Lighthouse Flag was adopted by the U.S. Light-House Board in 1888.  It was only displayed at lighthouses after a lighthouse keeper was awarded

 the annual Efficiency Star for a well-maintained light station.  The flag was officially discontinued in 1939 when the U.S. Coast Guard took over the U.S. Lighthouse Service.

Post Office in Lubec, Maine.  Population 1237.  Located on a peninsula overlooking an ice-free harbor.  
The town was first settled about 1775. 
The Bay of Fundy International Marathon between Lubec and Campobellow Island, New Brunswick, Canada.   The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Bridge crosses The Narrows..
Hopley Yeaton, ship captain, considered the "Father of the US Coast Guard" lived in the village of  Lubec, Maine.  The Lubec Narrows, the channel between Lubec and New Brunswick's Campobello Island.

The Safe Harbor Committee formed now in the engineering stage to create a breakwater in Johnsons Bay to give fishermen some protection from the deadly tides within launching returning in their skiffs.  



Lubec is situated on the tip of the U.S. surrounded to the west: by Johnson Bay and to the east by the Quoddy Narrows.

Samuel De Champlain (circa 1570-1635) was born in France, the son of a sea captain.   As a boy Champlain learned seamanship and navigation and served in King Henry IV's army.  He explored the coast as far south as Cape Cod.  He is mainly known for being a founder of Quebec City in 1608.

Campobellow Island is home to the Roosevelt Campobello International Park is an example of international cooperation jointly administered by Canada and the United States.   Roosevelt's magnificent summer home is preserved here.
St Croix Island - International Historic Site  The beginning of a permanent European presence in Northern North America.   The island sits in the current between Maine and New Brunswick.  Survivors moved on to create Port Royal, near Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.  French exploration and expansion in North America continued from there.

  Heading south 150 miles along the coast from Lubec, Maine to Camden Maine (passing by Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park).  Then to Boston, Massachusetts!
